But as we attempt to bring more playful energy into our day-to-day existence, we must honour our elders who went on the hunt for whimsy before us, and gave us the guide to live. One of our most significant fore-mothers is no other than the film Amélie by Jean-Pierre Jeunet from 2001. The Academy Award-winning film followed the story of 20-something-year-old Amélie Poulain (Audrey Tautou), a shy and quirky waitress who decides to improve the lives of those around her while dealing with her own longing for love. This year, the cult classic turns 25, and we decided to celebrate the film by hosting a special screening with the Curzon for Dazed Club members earlier this month. Over 200 clubbers secured tickets to watch the film at the Curzon Soho, and were served complimentary drinks and popcorn. The drinks reception lasted 30 minutes in the lobby before the film started, where Dazed Club members could hang out and meet one another over drinks.
